Themes, not transcripts.

This page is maintained by Kindwell to answer common privacy questions about how Molly handles your child's conversations. It is not a legal contract — it's how we actually operate.

What parents see

Parents receive a Weekly Signals report every Sunday evening. That report contains themes, mood shifts across the week, and three suggested dinner questions. Parents do not see their child's exact messages, ever — not in the report, not in the dashboard, not on request.

What we collect

  • Your child's chosen name and avatar.
  • The conversations your child has with Molly.
  • Derived signals: themes, tone shifts, recurring topics.
  • Parent account info (email, notification preferences).

Who can read the messages

Molly reads the messages to respond and to derive themes. A small number of Kindwell staff can access raw conversations only when (a) you ask us to debug something or (b) safety automation has flagged a serious risk and a human needs to verify. Every such access is logged.

The one exception: safety

If Molly detects signs of self-harm, abuse, or immediate danger, parents are alerted right away — by push, email, and SMS. Parents receive presence ("something serious came up; please check in"), not the underlying transcript. See the Safety Escalation explainer for the full protocol.

Retention and deletion

Conversations are retained as long as your family account is active so Molly can remember context across weeks. You can delete an individual child's history, or your entire family account, at any time from the parent dashboard. Deletion is permanent within 30 days.

What we will never do

  • Sell your family's data.
  • Train third-party models on your child's conversations.
  • Show ads to your child.
  • Share transcripts with parents, schools, or anyone else.
