Safety Escalation

If something serious comes up, you hear from us right away.

No waiting until Sunday. Ever. This page explains exactly what Molly does — and what you'll see — the moment a serious signal appears.

What triggers escalation

  • Self-harm
  • Abuse
  • Immediate danger

1 — In the moment, with your child

Molly's tone shifts: direct, warm, no metaphors. She surfaces crisis resource cards (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, Crisis Text Line, Childhelp). She stays with your child while we contact you in parallel.

2 — Parents alerted immediately, on every channel

Push notification, email, and SMS all fire at the same time. The message is presence, not content: "Something serious came up in Molly's conversation with [child]. Please check in."

3 — Re-notification until you acknowledge

The cadence repeats until a parent taps acknowledge:

  • 0 min — Push + Email + SMS
  • 5 min — Push + SMS
  • 15 min — Push + Email + SMS
  • 30 min — Push + SMS
  • 60 min — Final wave, then stop
  • 24 hr — One last email if still unacknowledged

4 — Privacy is preserved

Parents get presence, not the transcript. You'll know something needs your attention. You'll know which child. You won't see the exact messages. The conversation belongs to your child.

5 — A human reviews

A trained Kindwell reviewer verifies every safety-flagged conversation within minutes. If it was a false alarm, we tell you. If it wasn't, we make sure the right resources are in your hands.
